The short version
ClassiFido keeps a student's class schedule and homework in one place. To do that we need their name, their classes, and their parent's email. We don't sell it, we don't advertise to children, and our analytics never know who anyone is. There is no messaging, no public profiles, and no way for anyone to contact your child through ClassiFido.
Who we are
ClassiFido is operated by Classifido LLC, a Georgia limited liability company.
What we collect
About a student — their name, their school and grade, the classes they take, and the links to the documents their teachers publish. If your school publishes a schedule feed, we also hold the timetable it gives us: which class is when, and which room. We do not collect a date of birth, a photo, a home address, or a phone number.
About teachers — where a school publishes teacher names in its schedule feed, or where a family enters them, we hold those.
About a parent or guardian — name, email address, and if you're on a paid plan, a record of your payments. We don't hold your card number.
From teachers' documents — we read the class pages and documents teachers publish, exactly as they publish them, to assemble the weekly schedule you see.
Automatically — sign-in events, server logs, and product analytics (see Analytics). That's the extent of it.
What we don't collect
We think this list matters more than the one above.
- No passwords — we don't hold one for you
- No card numbers — our payment processor holds those, not us
- No date of birth, photo, home address or phone number
- No device or GPS location
- No tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers, no ad networks
- No email open tracking
- No third-party scripts on our pages
- No social features — no messaging, no friends, no public profiles, no student-to-student anything
How you sign in
We don't hold passwords. There isn't one to steal.
You sign in with your Google or Microsoft school account, or with a link we email you. Google and Microsoft verify who you are and tell us only that it's you — we never see your password. The emailed link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
Keep your school account and your email secure, since either one gets into ClassiFido.
What we do with it
We use it to build the weekly schedule, send the emails you asked for, keep your account working, process payment, and see how the product is used so we can improve it. Nothing else.
Analytics
We use product analytics to learn which features are used and where things break. Each person's activity is recorded under a random ID that resets every month, and our analytics provider never receives a name, email, school or location. It's never used for advertising and never shared. Along with the random ID, we record only general details that can't identify anyone, such as whether the person is a student, a parent or someone else, their school level and the kind of device. Because these records aren't tied to anyone, they can't be looked up, exported or deleted for one person; we keep them for no more than a year.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data, and we never will. There is no version of this business that involves selling information about children.
We use a small number of service providers to run the product: a database and sign-in provider, a hosting provider, an email provider that delivers the schedule emails, an analytics provider, and a payment processor. They receive only what's necessary to do those jobs, and they're bound by confidentiality obligations.
Signing in uses Google or Microsoft, who verify who you are.
The schedule emails we send contain your student's first name and their week, so our email provider carries that.
Beyond this, we share data only if you ask us to, or if we're legally required to.
Children
ClassiFido is built for students, including students under 13. That's the point of it — a student should be able to see their own week and learn to manage their own workload.
An account for a student under 13 is created only with a parent or guardian's authorization. A parent creates the account, or authorizes one. Students may then sign in and use ClassiFido themselves.
Students aged 13 and over may create their own account. We ask them to confirm their age when they do.
A parent or guardian can see everything in their student's account, ask us to export it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll take care of it.
We don't show advertising to anyone, and we don't use a student's information to target anything at them. Our analytics sees only a random monthly ID, never who the student is.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete it, we remove your personal information within 30 days — usually within a week.
Invitations are deleted routinely: a completed invitation is deleted after 30 days, an unused one after 60.
Two exceptions. We keep financial and transaction records where the law requires it. And documents a teacher published stay in our catalogue, because they belong to a class rather than to a family — the next family in that class sees the same page. Those documents contain no information about your student.
How we protect it
Your connection to ClassiFido is encrypted, and our database is backed up daily. We don't hold passwords, and the tokens behind sign-in links are stored as one-way hashes rather than as readable values. Access is limited to the people who operate the product. We're a small team, which means security isn't someone else's department.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, export it, or delete it. We'll do that regardless of where you live. Email privacy@classifido.com and we aim to respond within 10 business days.
Cookies
We use the cookies required to keep you signed in, and nothing else. There are no advertising or marketing cookies, so there's no banner to dismiss.
Where your data lives
ClassiFido and our analytics are hosted in the United States.
Changes
If something material changes, we'll update this page and show a notice in ClassiFido before it takes effect. We won't quietly change how your family's data is used.
